How pressure transmitter work

Pressure transmitters measure the pressure of liquids, gases or steam through a sensing element. Applied pressure deflects an isolation diaphragm and transfers force to the internal sensor. In SUPMEA models such as the SUP-P300, a piezoresistive diffused-silicon sensor converts this deformation into an electrical signal proportional to the applied pressure.

The transmitter then amplifies, linearizes and compensates the signal to improve stability over the temperature range. The processed value can be transmitted as a standard 4–20 mA, voltage or RS485 signal for connection to PLCs, controllers and monitoring systems. Depending on the model, gauge, absolute or sealed pressure can be measured. Stainless-steel diaphragms and compact housings support reliable use in industrial applications.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a pressure transmitter?

A pressure transmitter converts pressure signals from liquids, gases or steam into standard electrical signals for monitoring and control.

SUPMEA pressure transmitters support different ranges from vacuum pressure applications to high pressure measurement up to 60MPa depending on model selection.

Pressure transmitters measure absolute or gauge pressure, while differential pressure transmitters measure the pressure difference between two points.

Yes. Proper installation and temperature protection should be considered for steam applications.

Common applications include:

Water treatment, chemical, oil & gas, food, pharmaceutical, energy and automation industries.
