  • Introduction

The Supmea Electromagnetic Flow Meter is designed according to Faraday’s Law of Electromagnetic Induction and is specifically developed for measuring the flow of conductive liquids in closed pipelines.

When conductive media pass through a magnetic field generated inside the sensor, an induced voltage proportional to the flow velocity is produced and detected by the electrodes. The converter processes this signal and displays real-time flow rate and totalized flow volume.

The flowmeter provides reliable and highly accurate measurement without pressure loss, making it an ideal solution for industrial process control and automation systems.

Supported outputs include:

  • 4-20mA Current Output
  • Pulse Output
  • RS485 Communication
  • Modbus RTU (Optional)

  • Features

Faraday Electromagnetic Principle——No moving parts — zero pressure drop, zero wear

The A100 measures flow using Faraday's law (E = K × B × V × D). Because no mechanical element enters the flow path, the meter causes no pressure loss and requires virtually no maintenance.

Wide Diameter Range——DN10 to DN1000 — one platform, every pipe size

Available in 24 standard pipe sizes covering flow rates from 0.14 m³/h (DN10) up to 14,100 m³/h (DN1000). Custom sizes and flanges available on request.

High Accuracy & Repeatability——±0.5% accuracy; ±0.16% repeatability

Reference accuracy ±0.5% of measured value; ±0.3% available for selected sizes. Repeatability ±0.16%. Valid for flow velocities 0.5–5 m/s.

Versatile Lining & Electrode Materials——Match any corrosive medium with the right liner

Lining options: PTFE (–10 °C to 120 °C), CR rubber, PU rubber, F46. Electrode materials: 316L SS, Hastelloy B/C, titanium, tantalum, platinum-iridium — selected by corrosion resistance chart.

Multi-Protocol Communication——4–20 mA, pulse, RS485, HART — all in one converter

Standard: 4–20 mA (0–750 Ω load) + passive/active pulse (Fmax ≤5000 cps). Optional: HART protocol, RS485/MODBUS-RTU. Relay output (2×SPST, 250 VAC, 3 A) on remote type.

Self-Diagnostics & Empty-Pipe Detection——Built-in diagnostics minimise false alarms and downtime

On-board self-diagnosis: ADC error, excitation current error, signal saturation, empty-pipe alarm, min/max flow alarms, reverse-flow detection. Error codes display in real time on the LCD converter.

  • Applications

Water Supply & Municipal Water

The A100 electromagnetic flow meter is widely deployed in municipal water distribution networks for accurate billing measurement and leakage detection. Its zero-pressure-drop design reduces pumping energy costs, while the empty-pipe detection alarm prevents measurement errors during pipe shutdowns.

Wastewater & Sewage Treatment

Designed for raw sewage, activated sludge, and digester liquor, the A100 handles media with conductivity ≥50 μS/cm without clogging or fouling. Remote-type models with IP68 sensors are suitable for submersible or buried pit installations.

Chemical & Petrochemical

With Hastelloy C or tantalum electrodes and PTFE or F46 lining, the A100 withstands corrosive acids, alkalis, and oxidising chemicals. HART communication enables integration into plant-wide safety instrumented systems (SIS).

Irrigation & Agriculture

Reliable flow measurement for drip irrigation, pivot irrigation, and canal distribution systems. Low maintenance and long service life reduce operational costs in remote field installations. DC 20–28 V supply option supports solar-powered field units.

Mining & Slurry Transport

PU lining and hard-wearing electrodes withstand highly abrasive slurries, mine tailings, and ore pulp. Vertical installation recommended to ensure even electrode wear and prevent solids settling. The A100 maintains ±0.5% accuracy even in challenging slurry conditions.

HVAC & Building Services

Compact integrated A100 models fit into mechanical rooms, cooling towers, and district energy piping. The 4–20 mA output integrates directly with BMS/SCADA. Available in DN10–DN150 for smaller HVAC circuits.

Pulp & Paper

Robust construction and wide conductor tolerance make the A100 suitable for measuring bleach liquor, black liquor, white water, and paper stock — media that challenge many other flow meter technologies.

Hydroponics & Horticulture

Accurate nutrient solution dosing and irrigation flow monitoring for greenhouse and vertical farming systems. Compact DN10–DN25 sizes fit inline with irrigation headers. Low power DC supply option suits off-grid installations.

LDG-SUP-A100 Electromagnetic Flow Meter — High-Accuracy Conductive Liquid Measurement

  • FAQ

Q: What is the minimum conductivity for the A100?

The A100 electromagnetic flow meter requires a minimum liquid conductivity of 50 μS/cm. This makes it suitable for most water-based liquids including tap water (≥200 μS/cm), wastewater, and most aqueous chemical solutions. It is not suitable for hydrocarbons, pure water, or non-conductive liquids.

Q: Can the A100 measure bidirectional flow?

Yes. The A100 automatically detects positive and negative flow directions. Forward flow accumulation (∑+), reverse flow accumulation (∑–), and net flow (∑) are all displayed and available via RS485 register reads.

Q: What is the difference between integrated and remote type?

In the integrated (compact) type, the sensor and converter are housed together. In the remote type, the sensor and converter are physically separated and connected by a signal cable (standard 10 m; custom lengths available). The remote type is preferred when the sensor is in a high-vibration, high-temperature, or submerged environment, or when the display needs to be mounted in a more accessible location.

Q: Can the A100 measure slurry and abrasive media?

Yes. Select polyurethane (PU) lining for maximum abrasion resistance. Install vertically with upward flow for slurry applications to ensure even electrode contact and prevent solids settling. Hastelloy C or titanium electrodes are recommended for abrasive/corrosive slurries.

Q: How do I select the correct electrode material?

Electrode material selection depends on the corrosivity of the process medium. 316L stainless steel covers most water and mild chemical applications. For hydrochloric acid and reducing acids, use Hastelloy B. For oxidising acids (nitric acid, hypochlorite, seawater), use Hastelloy C. For chlorides and seawater, titanium is suitable. For the broadest acid resistance, select tantalum.

Q: How accurate is the A100 electromagnetic flow meter?

The A100 achieves ±0.5% accuracy of measured value under reference conditions (water, 20 °C, 0.1 MPa). For selected pipe sizes, ±0.3% accuracy is available. Repeatability is ±0.16%. Accuracy is valid for flow velocities between 0.5 and 5 m/s.
