How plastic valve work

Plastic ball valves and butterfly valves are commonly selected for full-open or full-close service. Ball valves provide fast 90-degree shut-off in small- and medium-size pipelines, while butterfly valves offer a compact solution for larger pipe diameters. Diaphragm valves may also be used where media isolation from the operating mechanism is required.

Valve body and sealing materials must be selected according to chemical compatibility, concentration, pressure and temperature. UPVC is commonly used for moderate-temperature water and chemical service, while PP, PPH, CPVC and PVDF configurations extend the available range for different process conditions. EPDM, FPM and PTFE sealing materials are available on selected valve types.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of plastic valves does Supmea offer?

Supmea currently offers plastic diaphragm valves, plastic butterfly valves and plastic ball valves. The range covers isolation, flow regulation, quick shut-off and selected automated control applications.

Depending on the valve type, available body materials include UPVC, CPVC, PP, PPH and PVDF. Seal and seat options include EPDM, FPM and PTFE.

First define the required function, such as isolation, throttling, flow switching or automated control. Then confirm the process medium, chemical concentration, temperature, pipe size, operating pressure, connection type, body material and seal material.

A plastic ball valve provides fast quarter-turn shut-off and is commonly used in small- and medium-size pipelines. A plastic butterfly valve has a compact disc design and is generally more suitable for medium- and large-diameter piping systems.

A plastic diaphragm valve is suitable when the process medium must remain isolated from the valve operating mechanism. It can also be selected for flow regulation, high-purity service or compatible fluids containing suspended particles.

Yes. Selected diaphragm valves can use pneumatic or electric actuators, butterfly valves include an ISO 5211 mounting pad, and selected ball valves are available with an optional actuator interface.
