  • Product Overview

The RTX2300-A is an in-line absolute pressure transmitter from the RTX2000 series, designed for accurate and stable measurement of gas, liquid, and vapor. It delivers Premium accuracy down to ±0.04% span and long-term stability of ±0.1% URL over 10 years. With a two-wire 4–20 mA / HART® 7 output, measuring ranges from 0–400 mbar to 0–50 bar, and wetted parts in stainless steel 316L or Hastelloy C-276, the RTX2300-A is built for demanding process environments. Its die-cast aluminum housing with polyester coating is rated IP65/IP67 and supports NEPSI hazardous area approvals, with an optional LCD display that rotates for flexible installation.

  • Key Features

Premium accuracy down to ±0.04% span
Accuracy includes terminal-based conformity, hysteresis, and repeatability. A Standard accuracy option of ±0.065% span is also available, with turndown-dependent formulas specified for ratios up to 100:1 on selected range codes.

Two-wire 4–20 mA / HART® 7 output
Loop-powered from 10.5 to 45 Vdc (max. 28 Vdc for intrinsically safe applications). HART® multidrop mode supports up to 16 devices in one system, configurable via local 3-button operation or HART® communication.

Ranges from 0–400 mbar to 0–50 bar
Four range cover absolute pressure from 0–400 mbar up to 0–50 bar, with minimum spans from 100 mbar and premium accuracy maintained at turndown ratios up to 100:1.

Robust overpressure and containment ratings
Depending on range code: overpressure up to 75 bar, burst pressure up to 120 bar, and containment pressure of 350 bar, for reliable protection in demanding processes.

NEPSI hazardous area approvals
Optional certifications: Ex ia IIC T4 Ga, Ex db IIC T6 Gb, Ex ec IIC T6 Gc, and Ex tb IIIC T85°C Db — plus a non-hazardous area option. Intrinsic safety parameters: Ui 28 V, Ii 100 mA, Pi 0.7 W.

Optional LCD display and 270° rotation
Configure through the local 3-button interface or HART® protocol. The display rotates 270° clockwise, and the transmitter housing can be rotated 270° left or right for optimal field wiring and viewing.

Built for harsh environments
Die-cast aluminum ADC12 housing with polyester coating, IP65/IP67 protection, ambient temperature from -40 °C to +85 °C and process temperature from -40 °C to +120 °C. Advanced or standard lightning protection is available; damping is adjustable from 0 to 100 s.

  • Applications

The RTX2300-A measures gas, liquid, or vapor, and provides absolute pressure readings referenced to vacuum — independent of atmospheric pressure variation. Typical use cases include:

• Absolute pressure measurement independent of atmospheric pressure changes
• Process monitoring of gas, liquid, and vapor media at process temperatures of -40 °C to +120 °C
• Hazardous area installation with NEPSI Ex ia / Ex db / Ex ec / Ex tb approvals
• Outdoor and wash-down environments thanks to the IP65/IP67 aluminum housing
• Loop-powered 4–20 mA installations with HART® 7 asset management

  • FAQ

Q: What is the difference between the Premium and Standard accuracy options?

A: The Premium option provides accuracy down to ±0.04% span within the specified turndown ratio, while the Standard option provides ±0.065% span. Accuracy includes terminal-based conformity, hysteresis, and repeatability, and may vary with the turndown ratio r = URL/FS.

Q: How can the RTX2300-A be configured?

A: Locally via the optional LCD display with 3-button operation, or remotely via HART® 7 communication using a handheld terminal or host computer. Up to 16 HART® devices can coexist in multidrop mode.

Q: What media can be measured?

A: Gas, liquid, or vapor, with process temperatures from -40 °C to +120 °C and 0–95% relative humidity.

Q: Does the transmitter support hazardous area installations?

A: Yes. Optional NEPSI approvals include Ex ia IIC T4 Ga, Ex db IIC T6 Gb, Ex ec IIC T6 Gc, and Ex tb IIIC T85°C Db. A non-hazardous area approval option is also available.

Q: How do I set zero and span?

A: Perform zero/span setting after completing the pressure process connection or when system conditions change. Use precise calibration with a known reference pressure, or quick setting without reference pressure, via local buttons or HART® communication. For absolute pressure transmitters, perform PV zero adjustment after vacuuming.
