Product Overview
The SUP-FLC220 Liquid Turbine Flow Meter measures liquid volumetric flow by detecting the rotational speed of an internal turbine impeller. As liquid passes through the measuring tube, the flow drives the impeller to rotate. The sensor generates electrical pulses corresponding to the liquid flow rate, which are processed to determine instantaneous flow and accumulated volume.
The product is available with threaded, clamp, and flange connections to accommodate different pipeline requirements. Depending on the selected configuration, it can provide pulse output, 4–20mA analog transmission, or RS485 communication. The flow meter is suitable for applications where volumetric flow measurement and flow totalization are required.

Measuring Principle
When liquid flows through the sensor housing, its kinetic energy drives the internal turbine impeller to rotate. The rotating impeller periodically changes the magnetic field detected by the sensing coil, generating electrical pulse signals.
The pulse frequency corresponds to the liquid flow rate. After signal amplification and processing, the instrument calculates the instantaneous volumetric flow rate using the meter coefficient (K-factor). The accumulated liquid volume is determined from the total number of pulses.
The relationship between the pulse frequency, flow rate, and meter coefficient is expressed as: K = f / Q
Where:
For accumulated flow measurement: K = N / V
Where:
The meter coefficient is used to convert the detected pulse signal into flow measurement values.

Applications
Water Supply
Volumetric flow measurement of clean water in closed pipeline systems, provided that the liquid meets the specified viscosity and cleanliness requirements.
Petroleum Industry
Flow measurement of suitable refined oil and light crude oil, subject to viscosity, cleanliness, temperature, and wetted-material compatibility.
Chemical Processing
Measurement of compatible, low-viscosity organic and inorganic liquids without fibers or solid particles in closed process pipelines.
Metallurgical Industry
Liquid flow measurement in metallurgical processes where the medium and operating conditions meet the flow meter specifications.
Papermaking Industry
Measurement of suitable clean process liquids in papermaking facilities. Liquids containing fibers or solid particles are outside the specified medium requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions
What types of liquids can the SUP-FLC220 measure?
The SUP-FLC220 is designed for low-viscosity liquids without fibers or solid particles. Examples include clean water, refined oil, light crude oil, and suitable organic and inorganic liquids. The liquid must be compatible with the wetted materials.
What is the accuracy of the SUP-FLC220 turbine flow meter?
The SUP-FLC220 is available in 0.5 and 1.0 accuracy classes. Repeatability is specified as within one-third of the accuracy grade.
What is the maximum operating temperature?
The standard version supports medium temperatures from -20 to 80°C. The high-temperature version supports -20 to 120°C. The appropriate temperature configuration must be selected when ordering.
Does the SUP-FLC220 support 4–20mA and RS485 output?
Yes. The available output depends on the selected configuration. For example, the K5 option provides pulse, 3-wire 4–20mA, and RS485 outputs with a display and 24 VDC power supply.
Can the flow meter measure high-viscosity liquids?
The specified kinematic viscosity is ≤5 × 10⁻⁶ m²/s. For liquids exceeding this value, calibration using the actual process liquid is required before use.
What process connections are available?
The SUP-FLC220 supports threaded connections from DN4 to DN100, clamp connections from DN10 to DN100, and flange connections from DN15 to DN300. The actual connection must be selected according to the pipeline requirements.
Can the turbine flow meter be installed vertically?
Yes. Both horizontal and vertical installations are supported. For vertical installation, the liquid must flow upward and the pipeline must remain completely filled.
What straight pipe length is required?
According to the user manual, the upstream straight pipe section should be at least 20D, and the downstream straight pipe section should be at least 5D, where D is the nominal pipe diameter.
